I worked at Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium since the summer before my junior year. During my time at this organization, I learned how to handle a variety of animals, including (but not limited to) pythons, alligators, owls, tarantulas, chinchillas, insects, and even more critters! I constructed and hosted various dive shows within the aquarium, including some special event dive shows (shown in the pictures)! I was able to interact with guests and tell them about the fishes and other life found within the facility. I brought out various education animals, so people could learn about them, engage with them, and be inspired by them. I constructed signage which thousands of people read throughout a day and helped construct scavenger hunts (and other activities) for school groups which made Missouri grade standards. I was able to grow as a writer, interpreter, and handler here. Plus, I was able to broaden my knowledge about animals and habitats around the world. Not to mention, I got to work in an aquarium on a daily basis, surrounded by wildlife!
